What does the EditMe service involve?
As a qualified copyeditor and proofreader, I check your documents for writing errors and correct language use. This process involves a thorough check of the following aspects of your writing:

- Abbreviations, capitalisation, tenses and numbers
- UK vs American spelling

Academic Proofreading
Good proofreading can mean the difference between an A and an A+ grade.
I am an approved proofreader for the Auckland University of Technology and work with students from all tertiary institutions throughout New Zealand.
As a native English speaker, I am qualified with a Diploma in Copyediting and Proofreading from the NZ Institute of Business Studies, as well as having two science degrees from NZ universities.
Tertiary institutions have clear guidelines for editing academic documents. These ensure that all submissions are wholly the work of the student alone.
These are the guidelines I follow for my academic proofreading. While my academic service can’t stretch to structural editing, I am able to comment on passages that lack clarity or may need revising or rewriting.
I can check your in-text references, reference list and writing format according to the style required by your particular tertiary institute or journal publication (e.g. APA 6th). However, this does not include fact-checking of in-text citations.
